1:1 is a very reasonable option. Others are too high. We can’t hope locking would rise the price. The most important thing is project’s profit.
I also hope we can update the early withdraw fuction before this. We voted it for a long time, and some people who just need 8x vaults probably need this.(we can burn more coins.
I would suggest that even $1 per $1 is high. For people who invest mostly stable coins, like myself, I don’t even hold much in BTC, ETH, etc. I could invest $500,000 in an AV, but I would never buy $500,000 in Alpaca because I don’t take that risk in normal crypto.
But perhaps, if you lowered the ratio even more to $1.0 worth of ALPACA locked for $2-5 allocation, you might get more whales like me willing to dip our toe more in to these waters. Perhaps I would buy enough Alpaca to make it 10-30% of the total position. Even at $1 to $1, that is a huge volatility risk making it 50% of my position. This is on an otherwise stable coin portfolio.
However, I also understand the point of this AIP may be to prevent whales like me. I am also investing in the 3x vaults. I would suggest even lower allocation ratios. But perhaps due to supply and demand, you don’t need to at this early stage.
Either way, I am slowly accumulating more Alpaca.
We could add a new option for the allocations and remove option #5 that imho is out of scale
Option0: $0.5 worth of ALPACA locked for $1 allocation
What do you think @huacayachief ?
Let’s take the hypothetical scenario where all 200m go to x8. Then only 25m is needed to fill it completely. Currently, we have 40.8m xalpaca which at the current rate of .6 is roughly 24.6m.
so basically in the most extreme scenario where the whole capacity goes to stakers, 1:1 is the best we can do in order to give everyone a chance. Lowering either the allocation or the ratio is just going to exclude more stakers
I wouldn’t say 3:1 is out of scale. It all depends on the how the capacity is allocated across the vault types
People without Alpaca can still use the <= 4x vaults. So this is an advantage for people who have a stake in Alpaca Finance success, which is fair.
As I said before the only people who have issues with limiting vaults are people who don’t have and don’t want to buy Alpaca. Therefore I don’t care for them.
AIP looks good to me. The voting should be done using Ranked Choice voting IMO like AIP-3
The Alpies proposal to be eligible for the automated vault >4x is out the AIP?
AV access thanks to Alpies will be in another AIP if it’s a viable implementation option
I have no issue adding this an the option.
Please not though that with the currently price, your suggest option might results in higher allocation than the possible available 8x capacity. These metrics are very dynamic though.
I don’t expect that everyone that locked alpaca in the vault will be interested in delta neutral vaults.
I personally want to stay exposed to the markets and won’t use my allocation, I suppose there are some other investors like me.
The first part of the vote is now live on Snapshot. Snapshot
You have until 5:00 AM UTC Thursday April 28th to vote.
Not sure if Devs are aware of it but I am experiencing some issues trying to vote: After voting it says the vote went through but it does neither show the votes below nor the votes results. There’s a message on the results box: “Results could not be calculated. This is often due to a misconfigured strategy or an unresponsive RPC node involved in the strategy.”
Thank you.
We are aware of the issue. There is some issues w/ the way Snapshot tallies the vote. We are suggesting a fix to them via a PR.
The 2nd vote is now live on Snapshot. You have until 11:50 PM UTC Tuesday May 2nd to vote.
Vote now: Snapshot
is this AIP implemented already?
if no, then when it can be implemented?
In half a day when the new 8x vaults go live
